A Blood Test Can Save Your Life

Anyone who has tested positive for COVID or suffered Covid-like symptoms, must get a series of blood tests. This is the only way to determine if that person is at risk for blood clots, anemia, vitamin D deficiency leading to loss of bone mass, respiratory failure, organ failure cascade and death. When doctors see any of those risks on the blood test results, they can provide preventive medicine and save lives.

Case in point: MJ, 35 year old female, came to me after finding out she tested positive for Covid. She had severe respiratory symptoms. I treated her with a bronchodilator, steroids, antihistamine with decongestant, and a cough suppressant. I also sent her for chest X-ray and blood test. The X-ray was normal, but the blood work showed elevated Cytokines, anemia, elevation in clotting factors and platelets. These results revealed overwhelming inflammation of the respiratory system and a risk of blood clots in the legs. If untreated those clots will inevitably break loose and form a pulmonary embolism, which in most cases is fatal. MJ also had experienced swelling of both ankles and pain in the back of her right knee. My primary diagnosis was deep vein thrombosis in the right leg. She also had developed iron deficiency anemia and vitamin D deficiency. I sent her to the local emergency room for further evaluation.

It’s likely that without the blood tests, MJ would not have survived.

Too many people have believed that once the viral infection has passed and the patient tests negative that they are over it. That’s a fatal mistake. Most of the organ damage and deaths occurred after the virus was long gone. The reason is that each virus which has embedded itself in the cell, has left behind genetic material that mixes with the human DNA. Thus, every cell in the respiratory system has become contaminated. The immune system starts attacking the respiratory system with overwhelming inflammation mimicking an autoimmune disease.

If you have ever been positive for Covid, you must get the blood work and have a doctor, who knows what to look for and treat the results.
